What if mum or dad are nervous or feel like they won’t have much to say?
That’s totally normal - and more common than you might think. Many people worry they won’t know what to talk about, but our interviewers are experts at making people feel at ease. They’ll gently guide the conversation to uncover beautiful stories and meaningful moments. And the consistent feedback from those who’ve been interviewed is that they’ve loved the experience.
Can I be interviewed alongside my partner or a sibling?
Yes. We love doing couple and sibling stories, as they offer a unique opportunity to showcase the dynamics of these close relationships. These interviews often reveal the warmth, humor, and even the challenges that have shaped the bond between individuals. A discounted interview rate is applied for the second party.
Is my story private?
Yes. We understand how personal these stories can be. That’s why every Reflections interview is treated with the utmost respect and privacy. It’s yours to treasure - whether you keep it close or pass it on to others. But we don’t share your recording publicly, and we won’t use it in promotions or samples without asking for your express permission.
Also, if any interview covers territory you later decide you’d like removed before we send the final version, that’s easily accommodated.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
We ask that you only cancel or reschedule in exceptional circumstances. Life happens - and we get that - but this is an involved process for all parties. We have a cancellation and rescheduling policy designed to be fair to both you and our team.
Can I book a Reflections interview for myself or as a gift for someone else?
Yes. Whether you’d like to record your own life story or gift the experience to a loved one, we can make it happen. Many people choose a Reflections interview as a meaningful present for birthdays or anniversaries. Other popular gifting occasions include Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas.
How old is too old for a Reflections interview?
The oldest person, so far, interviewed by the Reflections team is 95. And he handled things superbly.
Our interviewers are used to talking with people who’ve lived long and full lives. So they’re pros at adapting to the needs of any individual. (And the option is always there to pause for a scone break, too). But we find that families generally have a good feel for what is, and isn’t, manageable for their loved ones. How is my interviewer chosen? And how available are Steve and Seamus?
We put a lot of care into matching your loved ones with our interviewers. The goal is always to get a beautiful final result for you and your family.
Availability plays a part, though, both at your end and ours. Steve and Seamus, for instance, have very busy schedules and are less available than other interviewers in our team. They generally only do Reflections Masterpiece interviews. But rest assured that every interviewer we work with is a total pro, personally chosen by Steve and Seamus and dialed into their proven, winning formula.
