We give you simple tools to invite family and friends to contribute stories, photos, and insights — helping us craft a truly personal interview plan.
Pre-Interview Family Call (1 hour, via Zoom)
You'll meet your interviewer to chat through everything and finalise the plan together. It's relaxed, enjoyable and sets the scene beautifully.

The Interview (up to 2 hours)
Over a couple of hours — in your home, a nearby studio, or a location that suits — our award-winning interviewers guide a warm, unhurried conversation. The kind that brings out stories even your family hasn't heard before.

We edit and polish
Our editors craft the raw recording into a beautiful keepsake — a mastered audio recording, full multi-camera video, and even a cinematic highlight reel woven with family photos and videos, depending on your package.

Delivered digitally — and optionally on USB — your family's story is preserved forever. Ready to be watched, shared, and treasured across generations.

What if mum or dad are nervous or feel like they won’t have much to say?
That’s totally normal - and more common than you might think. Many people worry they won’t know what to talk about, but our interviewers are experts at making people feel at ease. They’ll gently guide the conversation to uncover beautiful stories and meaningful moments. And the consistent feedback from those who’ve been interviewed is that they’ve loved the experience.
Is my story private?
Yes. We understand how personal these stories can be. That’s why every Reflections interview is treated with the utmost respect and privacy. It’s yours to treasure - whether you keep it close or pass it on to others. But we don’t share your recording publicly, and we won’t use it in promotions or samples without asking for your express permission.
Also, if any interview covers territory you later decide you’d like removed before we send the final version, that’s easily accommodated.
Can I book a Reflections interview for myself or as a gift for someone else?
Yes. Whether you’d like to record your own life story or gift the experience to a loved one, we can make it happen. Many people choose a Reflections interview as a meaningful present for birthdays or anniversaries. Other popular gifting occasions include Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas.
Do you travel anywhere in New Zealand for interviews?
Yes. We regularly travel throughout New Zealand to record Reflections stories. If you live more than 50km outside of Auckland, we’ll work with you to confirm travel costs, which are passed on at cost with a small administration fee.
Alternatively, if your family member prefers to travel to Auckland, we can meet at a location that suits you or arrange a studio recording.
